Recipes from the Old Country

Objective: Self-directed assignment / Student must development their own assignment to create original approaches in a selected field and explore that area of study in depth.

Both publication design and poster design were utilized in the approach for this project. Rather than compile recipes in a cookbook format, the light-hearted nature of the content was reinforced by using "zines." Three categories of recipes (starters, entrees, and sides) were divided into three separate packets, which also included a card explaining the recipes' origin. Along with these, a sheet of vellum, meant to resemble parchment paper, contains a personal letter to the designer's father (the author of the recipes).
